Buck & his new family
Buck has completely adapted to his new surroundings and won our hearts. He is full of energy and life and loves going to the park in the morning and evening. He is tireless we have to force him to take a nap. He is a good little boy. Dixie plays with him when she feels like it but is not completely won over by his presence yet but she will accept him because yesterday evening she took his defense when another dog approached him in the park. It is a promising sign. He charmed everyone at the park and is quite a hunter his nose never leaves the ground. |

Danny n.k.a. Henry & his new family
Henry's doing so well. Since he went to school, Henry walks on his leash quite well, sits on command and is learning to shake. He's still busy, of course, but has mellowed some. He copies about everything his sister, Sophie,does. They play together (mainly consisting of Sophie mouthing him a little while he jumps all over her and treats her like his own personal chew toy.) Henry loves to be near or on people all the time--even wedging himself under us to sleep at night. (we quickly gave up trying to keep him off the beds) Thanks for the chance to get to know and love him. |

Hi, just a note to say "hi" and send a picture of Molly (Sam-me) after her bath. We are getting along quite well ... she is so sweet and fun. She visited the vet, met my friends and family and we're all in love ... she doesn't like to be left alone which is understandable so we are working on that. A little boy in my apartment complex has fallen in love with her so he visits her every day and they play. She loves to go to the park and ride in the car! Fritz & Stacie and Robert
We met Fritz at an adoption event at PetSmart, and we immediately fell in love with him! Since we adopted him, we have enjoyed watching him settle into our family. With a little work, patience and a lot of love, Fritz has adjusted well to his new home. Fritz loves to play with his toys, go for rides in the car or the kayak and go on walks. He is quite the little character and makes us laugh at least once a day. We cannot imagine him not being a part of our family. Stacie & Robert

Dexter & Charlie, Suzanne and Katie
Just as a short update, Dexter has been an excellent fit into his new home and family members. He has a very happy and pleasant nature. He seems very happy here, as he just runs and plays, goes out and back in at will. On my behalf and the entire families, please accept our Thank You for making this possible. Cooper & Cheryl
Cooper (formerly Copper) is a 2 yr. old minature short haired dachshund. I adopted him in November 2009. The day that I stopped at Animal House, he was being surrendered and it was love at first sight. He has such a great personality and has adjusted well to my social lifestyle. He loves to play (especially with squeaky toys), loves children and other people and gets along with all kinds of dogs. He enjoys his daily walks as well as I since I get a work out. Hi - my name is Oscar and I'm a sweet 1 year old guy with very distinctive pattern and coloring. I'm about 15 pounds so I'm a "tweenie" size and if I do say so myself, quite a looker! I was surrendered to rescue because I bit the daughter in my household. I don't like a lot of commotion going on around me and I do my best to stop it. I need a calm home with no children under the age of 12 or so. I'm a sweet boy and will love my new family with everything in me. |

Hi - I'm Bonito - a 2 yr old male black & tan dapple doxie. I'm a very sweet boy with a medical issue - I have Colitis - which isn't a bother to me much at all. I take a pill every day and eat a special diet to control it. Oh and I have a short stubby tail instead of a regular doxie tail...I was born with a stub but it wags just the same!! My one wish is for a loving furever home of my own - are you that home? |

Hi - I'm Deeter - a gorgeous cream colored, 9 year old, longhaired Dachshund guy. When I came to Skyway Dachshund Rescue, I was in terrible shape - I had HUGE mats in my gorgeous fur and I had to be shaved to get rid of them. I feel like a new guy now! Those mats were very painful because every time I moved, they pulled my hair! Now I have very soft short fur and I'm very happy to not have that pain! I'm a sweetheart of a guy and I just want a loving furever home who will take care of my long hair the way it should be! I'm on a diet too - which I'm not too thrilled about but I do need to lose a few pounds. |

I like to snuggle with my three foster doxie sisters in my foster home in Long Beach, MS. I have a big foster sister who is a rescued Greyhound that I don't like very much because she is so big and she likes to pester me. I really don't understand that she really only wants to play - her kind of "playing" scares me. I just stay clear of her and she doesn't bother me. I potty outside 99% of the time but I have been known to have an occasional accident. |

I know to go outside to potty and usually make it out the doggie door but occasionally I just can't make it - not very often tho.
